Meet Scott Kolokotsas

Warehouse Supervisor, Signet

I’m really happy in my role. Knowing there are options to progress over time with the company is exciting.

Joining Signet in 2013 with a background in manufacturing and sales, Scott discovered a dynamic role as Melbourne Warehouse Supervisor. As part of his job, Scott ensures the logistics of the warehouse run smoothly. From organising, receiving and delegating goods to managing orders and liaising with the wider team, it is a role and environment he finds both challenging and engaging.

“I love that my role brings me something different each day. The work is very diverse. We don’t know what is going to come in the next day and when it does arrive, it’s a great challenge managing the products to get them ready for sale.”

Working as part of a positive team

It is the strong sense of community that is so important to Scott and the team he’s part of.

“We have our monthly team lunch where we get together and talk about who’s doing what, our weekend plans and of course the monthly results. We discuss how we can do things better or more efficiently, which is great to focus on.”

What helps most with continuous improvement and implementing new efficiencies is having a strong and cooperative team.

“Everyone is a character! But what I like most is that everyone is able to bring forward their own ideas and thoughts when it comes to team discussions. People always put their hand up to make suggestions and they never hesitate to help out. I’ve been able to try new things in my role over time. Managers welcome suggestions and offer the chance to improve.”

On the job fitness

Beyond the positive team and daily challenges of warehouse supervision, Scott highlights the fast-paced environment as a big plus; “It keeps me fit! In addition, we are always trying to be proactive and improve ourselves.”

The support that Scott receives from Signet and the chance to grow in a role he enjoys have always kept him engaged and excited for what is ahead.

“I really do find that we take care of our employees and always strive to create a great environment. I’m really happy in my role and it’s exciting to know there are options to progress here.
